Kariyani-9: Obstinacy like a Buffalo

Mahima

Addressing the youths in Jesangpura in 1957, Yogiji Mahārāj said, “You should imbibe the teachings of Vachanāmrut Kāriyāni 10. Read it three times and contemplate on the final lines of the text.”

[Yogi Vāni: 29/1]

Nirupan

While explaining Vachanāmrut Kāriyāni 9, Yogiji Mahārāj said, “Nirdoshbhāv is the means to avoid being offended or developing an aversion [toward the Satpurush or devotees]. By understanding their association [with God] and regarding them as ekāntik - that is devotion. Just as God in Akshardhām has a definite form, he is also present on this earth - when one understands his greatness this way, then one lives according to the verse ‘Tulsi jā ke mukhanse’ and is ready to sacrifice one’s body for those associated with God. If an aversion develops, one is unable to progress in one’s devotion and understanding. Developing a grudge is not a sign of true affection.”

† This is in reference to the verse: ‘Tulsi jā ke mukhanse, bhule nikse Rām, tāke pagki paheniyā, mere tan ki chām.’ Tulsidās says that even if someone utters the name of Lord Rām by mistake, I would offer my skin to make shoes for their feet. Even such an insignificant association to Lord Rām was enough for Tulsidās.

[Yogi Vāni: 10/49]
